My Heroes Have Always Been Camelboys (with apologies to Willy)

My friend Seth inspired me to this, so blame him.

The only music I could find for you to listen to while reading this, (if you so wish to do that) was here and it is a bit faster than the normal version. Open the link in a new window and sing along.

And please feel free to offer up better lyrics than I pumped out in the last ten minutes. I changed a few words to go better with the faster version. And the end of the tune is cut off at the end.

Ladies and Gents, lads and lassies, I give you;

My Heroes Have Always Been Camelboys

I grew up a dreamin' o' bein' a camelboy
And lovin' the goatfu**in ways
Pursuin' the life o' my implodin' heroes
I burned up my childhood days
I learned all the rules of a suicide bomber
Don't ya press down the button too soon
Just take a short bus ride, or go to a disco
Go out with a scream and a boom

My heroes have always been camelboys
And they will be till I die
Sadly adhering to eighth century ideals
And a bunch of ragged old lies

Camelboys are spreadin their own brand of misery
By wiping their ass with their hands
Some will die from a bomb in a safe house in Baghdad
To be dropped in a hole in the sand
Pickin at sand fleas while down on their damned knees
And cryin to Allah each day
Dirty pajamas an' diapers on their heads
With their leaders a-hidin' in caves

My heroes have always been camelboys
And they will be till I die
Sadly adhering to eighth century ideals
And a bunch of ragged old lies

Sadly adhering to eighth century ideals
And a bunch of ragged old lies
