The Unmentionables

The Unmentionables

For everyone out there that thinks they get it, your wrong. This guy gets it and backs it up. And for all you freaking libs, cry in your milk now, there is no way that John F'ing Kerry will win in the fall.

Poker Night

It's Friday again, gateway to the false relaxation of a weekend. But it is a poker Friday, and no I am not talking about a sex date with my wife.

It's all about the beer, cards, and male companionship in a non-gay way. I know that's not PC, I don't freaking care because it's my blog and it's Friday.

I am so wanting an iPod, but I have some many things that come first. It would make a great father's day present.
Hint, Hint.

Well, time to go back to work for the "man". At least he is paying for my tech training and my exam fees.

Worrysome Wednesday

Well, our VIP from Monday showed up today. I am concerned that this client is thinking about dumping the account which means I could lose my job. That would really suck with another kid on the way, well we will see. I hope that they would consider keeping me if I continue to do a good job. Enough about that, the prospect of looking for a new job is too depressing.

I will be seeing Shrek 2 this weekend so stay tuned for a review. I would rather see Van Helsing but what the kid wants the kid gets. Looking forward to poker night on Friday, should be another good evening.

I have got to run, more to follow. Later troops......

It's Freaking Monday

This Monday had a different feel to it, almost like a Wednesday or Thursday. Not the shit the week has started feel that Monday normally dumps on everyone.

We were supposed to have a VIP visit today but the VIP was a no show. I think the "man" likes to have his monkeys(us) dress up for fun every once and awhile. Just to keep us on our toes.

I am thinking of applying for the next Survivor. Not that I think I will get picked but what the hell. As a wise man once said " You only live once". I have no idea who said that. My only reservation is leaving my wife and kid(s) for 12 weeks to do it. Well we will see.

I must say that I understand the President Bush is loyal to his people, but it is starting to look like Rummy should lose his job over at the DoD. Iraq has turned south on all of their plans and I am very concerned that it will be worse next spring when my brother and his guys in the 101st go back for a second tour. I think that if Bush keeps Rummy that he may lose the election just based on this issue. I hope his advisors see the light, because I would hate to turn the country over to John F'ing Kerry.

Nuff said on that topic for now. Well faithful readers, time to head off into the sunset. Later troops.......

Sunday

The day of rest, yeah right. I would assume that I am like most people who work M-F and save all their errands till the weekend. That being said, I managed to hang a ceiling fan yesterday without doing bodily harm. I however did screwup the wiring and had to redo it.

I have noticed that people have no regard for their personal information on the internet. Now before you tell me what a shocker that is, lol, I give you an example. I have a friend who has been very active politically in the past and been a mad poster on the old "bb's". Just for shits, I did a google search on this person and found some very interesting quotes from this person. The truth is out there as they say.

Of course, 20 years from now my kids will be giving me the third degree about my ravings posted here. Aw, shit happens. Well I am off to watch who gets wacked this week and pisses Tony off. Later Troops......

Friday at Last

Well it's Friday at last. It's been a long freaking week. The support team I belong to is in chaos and our client hates us. Now it has been my experience that after a period of time any client will turn against you. Just the way of the tech world.

Been a very interesting day. I was pleasantly surprised by one of my co-workers in a very good way, you know who you are. Other then that it was a kinda boring week at work sans the chaos.

So I get to play handy man this weekend and play with my tools. Got a ceiling fan to hang. Should be interesting since the last time I hung a ceiling fan I cut the shiznit out of my arm.

Let me speak about the "man" for a second. The "man" in this case is the almighty Microsoft. As a tech is search of certs, MS has decided that for certain exams 112.50 is not enough. Since most of there exams cost at least 125.00, they now all should cost at least that much. I guess Bill and Steve don't have nearly enough money.

Well that's it for now. Later troops.......

Great Movies and Stuff

I have recently seen two great yet completely different movies.
The Cooler with Alec Baldwin, William H. Macy and The Last Samurai with Tom Cruise.

In the case of The Cooler, Bill Macy turns in another great performance as a loser whose luck finally changes. I rented this and actually am going to buy it rather then just copying the rental.

The Last Samurai is outstanding not because of the great action scenes, which are great, but because of the story it tells. Although mainly a creation of Hollywood screenwriters, the story does contains a few kernels of historical fact. I don't know the actor's name, but the actor who plays the Samurai leader steals the movie from Cruise. Tom does turn in a decent performance but is clearly outside his comfort level when forced to actually act rather then perform a stunt in one of his over the top action scenes.

Enough about those movies, anyone heard about these 48 hour DVD's that self-destruct? What a crock of shit from the greedy bastards in Hollywood. It's not enough to charge about 10 bucks a movie in the theater, now we can rent movies that turn in to coasters in 48 hours. Stay tuned for more on this load of bull from the libs in freakyville. Death Match Tuesday

Tuesday is upon us. I think of Tuesday as a pit stop on that long death match to the weekend. I suppose that folks who don't work a set schedule would not agree. Nothing exciting so far today, but the day is young. I have concerns that some of my co-workers have raised the white flag. Yet, as much as their indifference affects my bottom line, I am forced to accept it since I do not operate from a position of strengh. Ah, such is life. Anyone out there have any "OfficeSpace" like stories they would like to share? Send to tm_blog@cox.net and I will post them for sharing. Later Troops......

Evil Companies

Allow me to speak on the topic of "evil" companies.
Try this name on for size: Apple.
Now before you take me for a PC loving, Mac hater, let me explain.
I think Apple makes some of the coolest computer products on the planet.
That being said, Apple is much more of a "evil" corporation then say Microsoft.
I will lay it out for you, but first, I do not worship at the alter of Bill either.

1) Apple has refused to license it's Operating System, thus limiting it's ability to become a main stream product.
2) Apple controls the price and distribution of it's hardware and software much tighter then any technology company in recent memory. Check out the prices of laptop memory over at the apple.com store.
3) (This is my main complaint.) Apple has chosen to push the aac audio format(which is great, in my humble opinion.), but it forces you into a limited selection of MP3 players, namely the iPod.

Again, these are some random thoughts from a deranged mind. Take aim, I am a bullseye tonight. Later.......

Another Monday

So, today is Monday. Big freaking deal. I am sick of people who assume that Monday should be the worst day of the week. I am having a good Monday. I am on a rant about user's that call up for help and then are too damn impatient to get the help they need.

I have a co-worker that will be known as GMF, if you can't figure that out, then I pity ya. He is a prime example of a tech worker who's time has come and gone. He is clueless about most newer technologies but speaks as if he is an expert on all. He never passes up spewing his liberal option on any either. I work along side this person for 7 hours a day but consider it a good day if I only speak to him once or twice. The sad part is that he is a pretty nice guy, just misguided.

So Friday past was our Poker Night, I came out ahead a whole 7 dollars. Pretty funny considering I played like a jackass the whole night. Well, gotta go earn a dollar for the man, later troops.
