The End of an Era

Folks the end of an era is upon us this day. I have left the oppressive corporate masters that forced me to write under a pen name. I will now blog under my given name with no fear of losing my job due to my political or social views.

I will not deliver a hateful parting post as I so crave to do. I will take the high road and not name names but just say that of the 40 people worked in my call center before it was moved to Dallas, I was the only one to stay with the company. Not because I was a "company man" but because I frankly needed to stay put for a spell and my insurance kicked ass. Why is it that often a shitty company will have great benefits? I think it is so that suckers like me will be more tolerant of the bullshit longer.

I leave behind a great group of people that I was proud to work with. I do strongly encourage them to seek employment elsewhere as soon as possible as the company that they work for is not only morally corrupt but also is being lead by idiots. More specifically, I would say that the account that you are working on guys will be lucky to exist in the next couple of months.

Enough of that negative crap today is a great day. I am moving on and for the better so everyone be happy. As I said earlier I will now write under my real name so without further ado, my name is Todd, nice to meet you. Stay awhile and enjoy the writing. Have a great evening everyone, tomorrow is a bright new day.

Guard the Border Blogburst

This is the blogburst that Kit at Euphoric Reality started in partnership with Mustang at Stacking Swivel and Social Sense.I am all for protecting our borders, because –we shouldn’t be sharing all this opportunity with people who are illegals–in spite of Vicente Fox’s goal of giving social security benefits to Mexican Citizens who then turn around and return to Mexico. Don’t we have enough American dollars flooding into Mexico with the number of manufacturing facilities who’ve packed up and moved down to such depressed areas as Matamoros, not far from Harlingen, Texas?According to a Pew Hispanic Center and Inter-American Development Bank report, Mexicans in the United States will send $13 billion this year to relatives in Mexico.

Mexican consulates in the United States started issuing an identification card, called matricula consular, to Mexicans illegally living in our country. This card, BY DEFINITION, should prove that the holder is in the United States illegally, but it began to be accepted by our police, our banks and even driver’s license offices in some states as though it were a valid I.D.! What kind of madness is this?

The ally-ally-in-free immigration policy of George Bush and Vicente Fox, beloved of corporate America, has created a hell on our southern border.

Those Southwestern states are being inundated by illegal aliens trashing ranches, killing cattle, committing crimes and eating up tax dollars. The traffic in narcotics and human beings from Mexico is a national scandal and a human rights disgrace.

What is true of New Mexico and Arizona is true of our nation, which is now home to an estimated 10 million to 15 million aliens who have broken our laws and broken into our country. It is a mark of the cowardice of our leaders that they are so terrified of being called “bigots” they tolerate this criminality. The moral rot of political correctness runs deep today in both national parties.

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson declared a state of emergency “due to a chaotic situation involving illegal alien smuggling and illegal drug shipments” on his southern border on August 12. Only three days later, Gov. Janet Napolitano followed suit in Arizona. Is anyone even paying attention? With the focus on the howling leftists who are blaming Bush for what’s happening with Katrina, why aren’t they focusing on Bush where it could make a difference and where I clearly see a presidential failing–protecting our borders?

Can anyone fairly say the President is helping our border patrol to enforce our immigration laws? Those laws are clear. People who break in are to be sent back. Yet the astonishing reality is-more than 10 million have broken in with impunity, and another million attempt to break in every year. Half a million succeed. Border security is homeland security. How, then, can the Department of Homeland Security say America is secure?

9/11: My Remberance by Todd D. Miller

The day we know as 9/11 started as just another pleasant fall day in Chicago where I was living at the time. My wife and I had been blessed by the arrival of our son in February and life was generally very good. I was working for a small software integrator and since I had a 10am installation meeting in nearby Skokie I had chosen to go directly from our house on the north side near Wrigley Field rather then fight rush-hour traffic from Hillside.

At about 8:00 CST my service tech called me to let me know that he might be late for our meeting at 10am. I told him that traffic could not possibly be that bad this morning and I was sure he would make the meeting on time. He said to me, “You’re kidding right? Have you seen the news?” I quickly replied that I had not since he had woken me from a dead sleep. He told me that a plane had crashed into one of the World Trade Center towers and the building was on fire. I turned on the television and flipped to CNN just in time to witness the second plane hit the south tower live. I told him I would call him back but we should plan to keep the meeting unless the client canceled or the office called with different instructions.

I hung up my cell phone and dropped to my knees as I watched flame and smoke pour from the towers as if someone had opened the gates of Hell. I sat on the floor in front of the television for about ten minutes struggling to comprehend what I had just witnessed. In retrospect, I can only imagine that my initial reaction was similar to that of the civilian populace that witnessed the attacks on Pearl Harbor at the onset of World War II. I went to awake my wife and she stared at me dumbfounded as I told her that two planes had hit the WTC Towers and that the news was already reporting it as an act of terrorism. She turned on the television in the bedroom and we silently sat and watched for a few minutes. I remember thinking that this must be a dream, we were Americans damn it and this does not happen on our soil. My feelings flowed from anger to disbelief to betrayal back to anger.

My cell phone rang again and it was my supervisor calling. She had been told that the company was going to try to operate as normally as possible but that the client had canceled my meeting at 10am so I should just come into the office to “do whatever” as she bluntly put it. I got dressed quickly and told my wife that once things settled down that it might not be a bad idea to head to her Mom’s house in the west suburbs. She disagreed but agreed to keep me up to date since I did not have a television or radio at my desk, the internet was going to have to be my only information source once I got to the office.

As I drove to the office, I scanned the news talk stations for more information. The first building collapsed as I pulled into the parking lot of our building and I just felt an overwhelming sense of sadness. The original estimates called for almost 10,000 dead and it was clear that morning that no one had a handle on what kind of damage had been inflicted. The President had closed American airspace and the sky became eerily empty of contrails from the many planes coming and going from Chicago. That action was even more apparent for us in the office as we were only a few miles from O’Hare airport and sat directly beneath one of the landing patterns. We sat there in our cubes just numb from the early morning’s events as we desperately tried to get the latest information off various internet news sites.

The news of a plane striking the Pentagon came as a swift kick to the gut. Again, I could not help but wonder how this could be happening to our country. At the time, I was only involved in politics and world events on the same scale as most of America. I paid attention to state and local news and only paid attention to politics when it was time to choose a president. You could say that I was blissfully ignorant of the threats that had been gathering against the United States. As I traded phone calls with my wife and exchanged information, there was a radio or television report that another plane was missing and possibly headed for Chicago. An immediate chill ran down my spine as I was flooded by a feeling of helplessness. I told my wife that she should at least go downstairs to her Grandmother’s apartment if she would not drive to her Mother’s house.

As the day progressed, the rumors gave way to truth and a small sense of security returned to those of us in the Chicago area even as rescue and recovery efforts began in earnest on the east coast. The entire day was surreal as we tried to busy ourselves with work that no longer seemed important or necessary. That evening I spent every moment I could glued to the television for the latest news. In the short span of hours everything we had known changed and I for one was left wondering what was next.

Over the next few days as we learned more about the attacks and why they happen, I kept coming back to a feeling of overwhelming sadness. Not sadness because we were attacked nor sadness at the fact that it appeared our government could not protect us. My sadness was for the innocent civilians that had been murdered, the heroic police and firefighters that had unselfishly charged to the rescue, and most of all for the families and friends that were left behind to question why. It still to this day brings me to the verge of tears when I ponder the enormous loss of potential that all of the victims held. Could there have been a Nobel Prize winner among the dead, a future president, perhaps the doctor or scientist that could have cured cancer or aids, we will never know.

I think the saddest part for me personally is the fact that so many children will not grow up with the love and guidance of a parent due to the selfish act of 19 misguided men who were led astray by a little-minded man hell-bent on creating glory for himself while perverting a religion of the world. There was a recent poll that said about 70% of Americans think about 9/11 at least once a week. I think about it everyday and maybe for me it has turned into an inspiration to lead a better life and follow the American dream as a personal tribute to our most honored dead. I fear that over time this day of national remembrance will fade as many such days in our history have. I challenge each and every American to hold the memories of these slain close to your heart and remember their sacrifice and heed the wake-up call we have been served. We are locked in a battle of epic proportions between good and evil and the day will come when those who in their hearts are riding the fence will have to make a choice.

I hope that the sadness I feel associated with this date and its events will fade over time but I fear that if we are to learn anything from the brutal attacks we will have to carry that pain of loss awhile longer. Remember this could have been prevented. Let us work together as the people of this nation did after Pearl Harbor to make sure it never happens again.

WTF Friday Rant Volume 1 Issue 32

Holy Sh*t!!! It's Friday and the WTF Friday Rant is in full effect. Lots of nuttiness for all to enjoy this week so dig in and by all means leave a comment or two. I am so glad that football season has started and that hockey season is around the corner. As I said the WTF Friday Rant is a little long this week so let's get it started. Stay tuned for a special announcement on Monday or Tuesday next week as I have a little something in the works. Don't forget to donate to the Hurricane Katrina victims either through the Red Cross banners on each side of this post or the charity of your choice. Please remember everyone on the gulf coast in your prayers. Enjoy the links everyone and have a great weekend.

P.S. There is quite a bit of sh*t in this weeks WTF Friday Rant so you be careful where you step. Just warning you, that’s all. GO BLUE!!! Beat Notre Dame!!!

Everyone needs to read this article about How the Left has f*cked our national security. It lays out in very clear terms how they have been chipping away at our national security for years.

The wonderful folks over at al-Qaeda have a great Ramadan season played for everyone in Europe and the United States. The MSM calls it "must experience terrorism". Look for the DVD from al-Jazeera in time for the holiday season.

US forces captures 200 terrorists in town known for foreign fighters. Syria bitches, Democrats cry, and Iraqis rejoice. This was actually reported in the MSM as a success but buried between Katrina updates so America has no idea that it happen.

Michigan law takes away surrender requirement to defending home and health against intruders. Homeowners call now kill criminals without fear of prosecution. That's great; they are catching up to the rest of the civilized world including Arizona.

Al-Qaeda makes a move for Afghanistan. Wrong move if you ask me, they will just get their ass kicked like before. Bring it on Mullah Omar!!!

Iran tries to bully the EU-3 over their nuclear program. Seems they are itching for a fight with the United States. The EU-3 need to step up and stop waiting to the US to ride to the rescue and just get the job done. My advice to Iran: be careful what you ask for.

Ocala homeowners association says evacuees are not welcome. This is just as disgusting behavior as the Democrats blaming the President for Hurricane Katrina. The members of the homeowner’s association board should be ashamed of themselves.

Democrats' anti-Bush petition also seeks political contributions. Seems Chucky Schumer put up a petition to fire the current head of FEMA, Michael Brown, and then asked signers for a contribution to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Of course when he was busted the story changed to that they were collecting donations for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Well Chucky old boy, you are the jackass of the week.

Good Ole Boy Ray Nagin tells WWL Radio that school buses are not good enough for his citizens and that’s why he did not use them. What a load of sh*t!!! This is just another example of the lazy corrupt politician that has sat in the Mayor’s seat in New Orleans for the last 50 years. He did not even follow the agreed upon plan for evacuation and then cries to the feds about how he needs buses. I can’t even comprehend how this guy was elected in the first place. He was a close second to Chucky Schumer for jackass of the week.

Staying on that topic of incompetent elected Democrats, get a load of this story about how much Governor Blanco and Mayor Nagin hate each other. Perhaps it should have been titled “When Democrats Attack Each Other!” If only the people of Louisiana had decent representatives then maybe so many people would not have died. Yes, you read that right. I am squarely laying the blame at the feet of Major Ray Nagin and Governor Kathleen Blanco. Not because they are Democrats, but because they have not an ounce of leadership in their entire bodies and people died. If you want to play the blame game, bring it on because I have the facts to back up my opinion. Try these facts on for size and here as well.

I just about fell out of my seat when I saw this. Michael Moore is looking to make another fistful of dollars off of the suffering of someone else. Unfreaking believable!!! I am really just speechless about this sad sack of sh*t and his ability to make money off of tragedy.

Ok, last piece of Katrina related news and then on to other news topics that caught my eye. Seems that the Secret Service might want to have a conversation with Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu about her threat to punch the President. Just a bit of background on Senator Landrieu, her family has dominated Louisiana politics for half a century and just about every member of her family is just as incompetent and possibly corrupt as her. She is a moron and should look at her own governor and mayor of New Orleans before trying to cast blame elsewhere.

Berger to pay $50,000 for taking classified material avoids jail time. What a crock of sh*t. The judge missed out on doing a great service to the citizens of this country, he did not make Berger, under oath, testify as to what was contained in the documents that he stole and destroyed. Could it be that he took documents detailing the information that Able Danger tried to pass to the FBI? Could it be some other information about OBL and al-Qaeda that would embarrass Bill and Hillary Clinton? We will never know but one can suspect that whatever he stole and destroyed would have caused harm to Bill Clinton’s legacy and certainly put a damper on Hillary Clinton’s plans to run for president in 2008. Sandy Berger is a disgrace to this nation and certainly got off light for putting politics before the national security of the United States.

Americans Still Worry Over 9/11 reports new Zogby poll. Apparently almost 7 out of 10 (69%) of Americans still think about the attacks of 9/11 at least once a week. Well that seems reasonable but in my case I think about it everyday. I did not know any of the victims nor know anyone who tried to help in the aftermath but that day haunts me. I can not help but think of the thousands of lives that were forever changed on that day and frankly it brings me to tears. I will be writing of my own experiences from that day on Sunday as part of a remembrance that we are having over at The Wide Awakes and each of our member blogs, please stop by and share your memories of that day.

While we are on the topic of 9/11, please read this column by Jason Mattera over at townhall.com. He describes the weak excuses and outright censorship by institutions of higher learning in regards to the 9/11: Never Forget Project. The fact that universities and high schools are opposed to this simple remembrance does not bode well for the future of our educational system. I would be ashamed to be a student at any school that refused to participate.

The City of Orlando is getting in on the anti-American scene. They are citing a business owner for displaying multiple American flags on her office building during Independence Day, Memorial Day and September 11th. The business owner says it is her way to honor American military members since her father is a veteran who served in three wars. The Liberty Counsel, a religious-freedom law group has taken her case and has told the city that the way the sign ordinance is being applied in this case is simply unconstitutional. What the Hell is wrong with people in Florida? This is amazing given the number of veterans that live in that state.

Arafat may have died from AIDS. I don’t have much to say about this, AIDS is a terrible disease that continues to be underestimated by many. I would never wish it upon anyone including members of the Democrat leadership but in the case of Yasser Arafat, I might be willing to make an exception. Burn in Hell you terrorist bastard!

Border Agents fire upon illegals attacking them; civil rights lawyers sharpen their claws and drool in excitement. So according to the civil rights/immigration rights lawyers the border patrol is no longer allowed to defend themselves nor the sovereignty of the United States. Why are most lawyers such world-hating scumbags? The defense of this nation trumps any and all rights of illegal immigrants that violently attack members of the border patrol. These illegals have no case, end of story.

Richard Hatch gets nailed by the IRS. I actually read the either indictment and all I can say is that this guy is going to a special level of Hell for what he did. Here’s the short version of his deeds, he cheated on his taxes and did not report income. He also created a charitable organization run by his and used all the donations for his personal expenses. And last but not least, he created an S-Corporation in Delaware to shield some of his misdeeds. I never saw the first Survivor, I got hooked on the second season, but every time I have seen Hatch in something I always thought he was a wee bit shady. Like I said, he is going to a special level of Hell.

Are forensic TV shows helping criminals escape detection by the police? I don’t think so but one forensic scientist at Oxford University in the United Kingdom thinks so. Crooks are dumb by nature and how many actually watch television, very few because they are out robbing and stealing to take from the Beastie Boys.

Drunk woman dies in cemetery accident. So that is way there are no alcohol venders at funerals. Seems a shame really, I mean what good is an old fashioned Irish wake without lots and lots of booze. That’s all for now, have a great weekend everyone.

Blogburst: Death to the ACLU Part III

Yes, we have reached the end of today's multi-part blogburst. This last part is best served by everyone reading the article I have linked to before reading my comments. So go ahead and read this and then come on back, I will be waiting. Everyone up to speed now? Good then let's get started on this latest example of how the ACLU works hand in hand with the Hate America crowd in the MSM.

Before the leftists hurt themselves rushing to type comments like "it's not unpatriotic to disagree" or "we don't march to your orders fascist", take a deep breath. Normal, civilized and rational opposition is a time-honored tradition in this country and many brave men and women have died protecting that right. The kind of rhetoric that comes from most of the anti-war, anti-Bush, or anti-America crowd is simply grade-school insults and slurs without any substance. There are many things that many people will disagree on and with that; disagreement comes a certain level of civility. Ok now that I have that out of the way, let us talk about the anti-America activities of the ACLU and their partners in the MSM.

The ACLU continues to push for the release of more photos and video from Iraqi prisoner abuse. Ask yourself who can possibly be served by the release of these photos and video? Is the release of this material going to make the government punish the offenders again or will they redo the corrections they have already made? The answer to the latter question is no and the answer to the former question is our enemies. The only people that could be served by the further release of these documents is our enemies who include al-Qaeda, Hamas and Iran among others. The result of our enemies getting additional propaganda will be increased attacks against our armed forces and interests around the world. One only has to look at the example of the fraudulent Newsweek article that detained Koran abuse as to what might happen.

Amazingly enough, the photos and video would also serve as additional propaganda for our very own MSM. They would certainly flood the airwaves with image after image of acts that occurred over two years ago while failing to mention that. The impression would be that these horrible acts are still happening rather then a sad chapter in our history that is thankfully in the past. If our MSM would not explain that the images are from the past and not present, could we reasonably expect that other news organizations in the world would? Al-Jazeera would love to discredit the “Great Satan” once more as they serve in the role of al-Qaeda’ disinformation arm.

The ACLU should be ashamed by their friend of the court brief that favored the release of the documents to the MSM. In my humble opinion, it borders on treason and thus should be treated as such by the government. That is exactly how it is viewed by many in the rest of the world, allies and enemies alike. The decision by the Washington Post to pull out of a simple, non-partisan, remembrance of the 9/11 victims is unacceptable and went largely unreported by it’s co-conspirators in the rest of the MSM. The reason given by the Washington Post? The event was deemed to be too political by some of its editors, not its readers. The entire existence of the Washington Post is too political, they serve as one of the many unofficial press arms of the left. Perhaps a quiet suggestion to pull out of the remembrance came from the ACLU? I am sure it’s only a matter of days before the ACLU sues the event organizers for violating the myth that is the separation of Church and State since I am sure the event will have some sort of religious tones if not outright participation from various religious leaders. When is this kind of behavior from the MSM and the ACLU going to be addressed? Will it take another false report by the MSM or just the ACLU winning the release of the photos and video to get Americans killed? How many must die so that the ACLU and the MSM can be satisfied in their quest to help our enemies?

Blogburst: Death to the ACLU Part II

The ACLU is continuing in its battle against the Boy Scouts of America, they recently got a leftist judge to rule on whether or not the Army could support the Boy Scout Jamboree in either time and material or monetarily. The judge made absolutely the wrong decision and banned the Department of Defense from sponsoring the event as he cited a 1999 decision that claimed the Boy Scouts violate the mythical separation of Church and State.

In fact in his ruling, the Judge made the following claim, “Manning said the plaintiffs had "shown irreparable injury that ... their constitutional rights as taxpayers are being violated." What possible harm could be done to the American taxpayer by supporting a group that encourages but does not require a belief in God, builds self-confidence, teaches from a moral background? How does that inflict injury upon Joe and Jane Taxpayer? Please enlighten me. The larger issue then the Boy Scouts is the continued efforts by the ACLU to define the mythical separation between Church and State. They use cases such as the ruling from 1999 and this recent decision to drive home that a separation exists. Their entire efforts smacks of the old adage that a lie told enough times becomes the truth.

The bottom line is that the Boy Scouts do not require a belief in God in order to be a member of the organization. I am speaking from first hand knowledge as I spent many years in the Boy Scouts myself and never observed that requirement in any of the scout functions I attended across this country. Common sense should have told the very first judge to hear this bullsh*t case and promptly dismissed it. The ACLU is strictly an anti-American group that with their targeting of the Boy Scouts is seeking to under mind another American institution.

Blogburst: Death to the ACLU Part I

The ACLU is now trying to directly prevent the Border Patrol from doing their job through another frivolous lawsuit. I had the link saved and the news site has since taken it down for reason unknown but I did find a cached copy of the story through Google, you can find it here.

When over 70% off the illegal immigrants coming to this country are from Mexico and Latin America then it makes sense to look at non-English speaking Hispanics that are hanging around town. This is simple common sense. Let me give you an example of how one could profile and be 100% correct in their assumptions. Recently Hurricane Katrina laid waste to the city of New Orleans, which is about 60% African-American. People complained about the news coverage of looters after the storm had passed. Let me break it down for you, 100,000 people stayed behind and ignored the evacuation orders. Given the demographics cited above that would mean that 60,000 of the people who stayed behind would be African-American. Therefore, if the looting was limited to just 10% of the people left behind then out of that, 10,000 there would be 6,000 African-Americans. So why are people shocked when the television shows more African-Americans then other races?

It is a simply numbers and that is most certainly the case along the Southern Border of the United States. Most of the people who cross illegally into the United States come from Spanish-speaking nations and that absolutely should be used as a tool by law enforcement. There is nothing racist about that it is just numbers folks. Maybe the ACLU needs a refresher course in math with a concentration on percentages.

Syria Makes a Deal In Hariri Assassination

Syria is currently working on a deal with the Lebanese government that will deflect blame for the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri. Seems the squeeze that Syria has been putting on Lebanon for the last two months is paying off in regards to whether Lebanon will disclose the role Syria played in the assassination.

As the investigation plays out it seems clear that Syria played an enormous role in carrying out the attack and it is quite likely that either members of his staff or Syrian President Bashar Assad himself could be indicted. Perhaps that is why Assad has removed himself from his country's delegation to next weeks United Nation's world summit. I think he is afraid of being arrested and brought for trial before the World Court. Hmmm, that World Court is a m*therf*cker when it can be used against you eh?

Stay tuned as this plays out over the next few weeks. I would also like to see Assad nailed for allowing terrorists to enter Iraq from his country and it would be nice if he came clean and disclosed that he is holding Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction. Hey, I can wish right? Have a wonderful day everyone.

Iran Readies Suicide Bombers For Deployment

Iran is currently running a readiness exercise for their suicide bombers under the pretense that the United States will soon be turning its eye to Iran and planning an invasion. The interesting part of this article describing the Iranian efforts is what it does not say.

It does acknowledge that the suicide bombers are not a part of the government, but what it does not say is that some of these bombers will eventually see service in Iraq, Israel, or even Saudi Arabia. Iran has been exporting terrorism as a government policy for years and this report should not surprise anyone. In fact, it is possible that some of these suicide bombers might be "loaned" to al-Qaeda and possibly show up in the United States. It is a sad fact that we will face suicide bombers in the United States, not if but when.

The EU3 must grow some balls and take the lead in convincing Iran to abandon its nuclear ambition. The United States has made it's thoughts on this topic very clear and while we certainly face the most danger from a nuclear armed Iran there are many countries that would not benefit from the Mullahs of Iran have a nuclear button to push. They include Israel, Saudi Arabia, Russia, China, and all of Europe. I will begin reading “Countdown to Crisis : The Coming Nuclear Showdown with Iran” by Kenneth R. Timmerman as soon as it arrives and it supposedly details the ties between al-Qaeda and Iran. Ponder that thought for a moment: Iran giving nuclear weapons to al-Qaeda or Hamas.

Mexico Tells U.S. to Shove It

Just a quick hit here, since I have been over this topic quite a bit already. Mexico cannot even control its own citizens inside its country so why do we think they are all willing to help with illegal immigration. They just do not care and when the US government tries to discuss the issue, we are told to mind our own business. Mexico is headed down a path that I am sure they do not want to be walking and that is pissing off the best friend that country has even had.

I continue to call on the President and Congress to tie the foreign aid given to Mexico to their performance on stemming the tide of illegal immigrants flooding into our country not to mention the almost daily cross-border raids conducted by Mexican crime families. The criminal elements bring drugs, guns, and smuggle human beings across the border. As I wrote yesterday, they could even be smuggling terrorists and weapons of mass destruction. Well that is my opinion on this topic for today; here is another opinion from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania of all places. The illegal immigration problem is not limited just to the Southwestern United States. To quote a wise man, Forest Gump, "that's all I have to say about that." Have a great day everyone.
