Blogburst: Death to the ACLU

This week's blogburst courtsey of Gribbit and Lee Ellis, thanks guys.

The Future Supreme Court – Legislative or Constitutional?

Lee Ellis

Regarding the Supreme Court openings, why do we keep hearing politicians and guests on talk or news shows asking our President to appoint men or women who will lean across the aisle to unite the Congress or the nation?

The purpose of a Supreme Court judge is NOT to follow the dictates of other politicians, NOT to follow a conservative or liberal policy, NOT to follow the current or the past rulings of other judges, other documents, letters or the Constitutions of other nations such as France, but rather to adhere to the American Constitution, sentence by sentence, paragraph by paragraph.

One does not lean across any aisle in order to compromise on the America founded by our forefathers, to convert what made this nation great as a free Republic to the kind of socialistic system that has almost destroyed some European nations and other formerly great countries.

We elected President George W. Bush to protect this country, to preserve the America we love, to keep America as the Republic it was founded to be. We did not elect Kennedy, Schumer, Biden, Boxer, Reid, or Pelosi to make the final decisions as to whom the judicial guardians of our Constitution should be for the next decade or two!

Yes, Congress does advise and consent with an up and down vote, but not with a filibuster or a refusal to allow a full vote. The choice of a federal judge appointee has always been with, and should remain, the domain of the Executive branch of government led by the President of the United States of America.

Will our Supreme Court once again be a Constitutional one, or will it rival Congress as a new Legislative branch? It is up to us to back the President’s choice of Supreme Court judges who will defend and protect the true meaning of our most revered document, the American Constitution!

Lee Ellis is a retired journalist and narrator, formerly with both CBS and Gannett (USA Weekend). He was also a combat veteran of WWII, having fought in the South Pacific invasions. He had the pleasure of interviewing Ronald Reagan as an actor and then later working to help him become Governor of California. At the age of 80, he is keeping busy writing and doing free lance narrations for radio and television. He is an active member of Rotary and the VFW.

Wonderful piece. This is a great man. A wonderful journalist and commentator. I encourage everyone to bookmark this link and read his stuff regularly.

Thank you Mr. Ellis. Your material is truly a pleasure to read.

Here’s the point campers… The American Civil Liberties Union, with encouragement from the liberal political icons in this nation, is taking advantage of an activist court. And the ultra liberals in the Senate need to follow tradition. The Senators of the Dumocrap party need to vote their conscience based on the qualifications of the nominees not follow the ultra liberal dogma of people like Teddy the Lush and Harry the moron. That is the point that Mr. Ellis is making. But he, unlike me, has the kind of manners that make him diplomatic.

I on the on the other hand, have the kind of manners that won’t allow me to allow the perpetuation of a system that destroys the values, tenants, and ideology that this nation was founded upon.

The ACLU is the most evil organization in the nation. And their ability to destroy this nation is at stake. So I’m calling on the Senate to do their job. Take a look at the nominee. Vote on the qualifications of the nominee. Don’t look at this as an issue to further your own political aspirations. It will probably backfire on you.

Teddy the lush and Harry the moron will oppose anyone nominated for the job. These individuals live in a fantasy world where the “Great Society” actually worked. Teddy has an excuse though. He hasn’t been sober since John got killed in Dallas. Harry? I think his brain is stuck at a Las Vegas Crap Table. So don’t follow them!
