First off, this post is not in any way critical of the Canadian people but rather their government and the free ride it gets from being our next-door neighbor. To my Canadian readers and friends, nothing personal, this is business.
The reality of the matter is that Canada has for years allowed their military to decline simply because of the fact they could rely on the United States to rush to their defense if Canada was ever attacked. Now, comes word that they are going back on a handshake agreement regarding the Missile Defense Program.
Well, let me express my humble opinion and give the President some advice. Ask Canada to start pulling their weight as far as their defense. Ask Canada to tighten their borders and help prevent terrorists from entering the US from the north. Hell, their borders are in worst shape then ours. I have personal experience with the Canadian Border Patrol on the US/Canada border in Michigan, but that's a story for another time.
Again, no offense to my Canadian friends, much like some of you, I just have a problem with your government. Enjoy the link. Later............

Megan, thanks for your comment. Certainly you have a point, but I think it is more likely that Canada has not spent the money on their military because they see no threat to them and are comfortable to let other countries shoulder the burden. I woul invite some of my Canadian readers to provide more information on the subject. Thanks again for stopping by.
The Mad Tech
I was there the last time the Hun invaded Canada. They were pleased to see our boys marching up over the border.
I'm sure they would chip in on the missile defense if it had ever worked or made any sort of sense. It has used public funds and kept a lot of people working, though, so the socialists should like it.
Excellent post, MadTech. I agree.
I say our anti-missile system should stop at the Canadian border. Then, when some terrorist launches a missile at North America, let the Canadians shit their wooly shorts.
I'd be interested to hear the border-crossing story - all of my negative experiences at that border have been on the American side.
You say the borders are weak and that terrorists have an easy entery....BUT
before entering the U.S.A from Canada, you always have to go through the US. Customs, with Americans controlling the whole thing, YOUR PEOPLE, not Canadians.....So stop blaming us for the terrorists that enter the U.S so easily, start critiqueing your own security people...
