Isn’t it amazing how many favors the Dems are calling in? In their efforts to defend the President they somehow convinced the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency to release a report today about some missing explosives.
As the mainstream media ran with this story like a giddy schoolgirl, some journalists actually did their jobs. Tonight after the story ran and ran on every liberal news outlet, the truth came out.
Apparently NBC has seen the writing on the wall and rather the run an inaccurate story they ran the truth, the explosives were gone when we got to the depot the day after the war started. I have linked the article from Drudge below. By the way, I seem to recall this same information running as an AP wire report about 2 months ago and I am currently searching like mad for it. The problem with focussing on the Iraqi official is he does not know when the stuff disappeared. As far as he knows it was there 2 weeks ago. The New York Times and NBC both had reporters at the site THE VERY DAY that US forces arrived and NBC says the stuff was already gone, the times has said nothing about having a reporter there. The IAEA can only certify the stuff was there in Jan of 2003. There is more than a 2 month gap between IAEA inspection and US forces taking control of the site. Is it not possible that Saddam distributed the stuff himself, before the invasion?
Thank you both for your comments. I was not aware that I was focusing on the Times. The point of the post really is just to show how the Liberal media is working hard to get their guy elected. As for the exactly when the explosives disappeared, we may never know, the important fact being lost in the discussion is that they were gone before we got there. Perhaps if we had not wasted on time with the big-talk, do-nothing UN, we could have prevented the explosives from falling in to the wrong hands.

Today, the Drudge Report claims that cBS was going to run the story on the eve of the election, however the story would not hold until then. Thus, the NYT released the story.
