Jack Kemp: A Voice Of Reason and a Hell of a Football Player

I have always admired Jack Kemp for his sound conservative values, chief among which is his fiscal polices. As anyone who knows me personally or has read this blog for the last couple of months, I am not a happy camper when it comes to the President's fiscal policy. I think that he has not cut taxes far enough, both personal and corporate, and that he is spending our money like a drunken sailor.

Mr. Kemp has written a great column over at Townhall.com that talks about the national debt as a percentage of GDP and how the goal of government should be to encourage economic growth and not thinking about how to raise tax dollars to pay down the debt. I suggest anyone who has a modest interest in the way that the government collects money and spends it, read the column. Enjoy the link. Later Troops........

What about Bush's claim that his spending over the last 3.5 years was due to 9/11 and the huge stock market decline?

I would agree that most of the spending that the President has signed off on is due to a recession he was handed by Bill and Al, 9/11, and the current wars we are fighting. What I do take issue with is the pork that was included in all of these bills. I would encourage the President to try and work with Congress to pass only spending that is needed in his second term.

Thank you for your comments and I hope that you become a regular visitor.

Unfortunately, Kemp is one of the few remaining fiscal conservatives left in the Republican party.
