Proof that smart people can be crazy too

I was online checking my fantasy football stats, enjoying a break from the stress of life when I thought I would check out some news. I have always thought you had to be a little crazy if you were smart and worked as a scientist or like position. Well now we have proof.

Kenyan ecologist Wangari Maathai, the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize has restated her claim that the AIDS virus was a deliberately created biological agent.

When asked for further comment, Maathai replied "We invaded Iraq because we believed that Saddam Hussein had made, or was in the process of creating agents of biological warfare," said Ms Maathai. "In fact it (the HIV virus) is created by a scientist for biological warfare," she added. "Why has there been so much secrecy about AIDS? When you ask where did the virus come from, it raises a lot of flags. That makes me suspicious," Ms Maathai said.

This claim is without proof or merit. I have linked the full article below.

The story of AIDS being deliberately created is an old one. While it has been pretty well dismissed the important thing is that many people truly believe it and act accordingly. It has been well and frequently demonstrated that neither intelligence or education is proof against being led astray in one's personal beliefs.
